I’m a freelance scenographer and costume designer working across film, theater and dance. My practice moves between historical research, character-led costume and material-driven scenography, depending on what the project asks for.

I’m interested in building visual worlds from the internal logic of a story rather than applying a fixed style. That can mean researching and sourcing period clothing, developing a character through silhouette, texture and wear, or finding a scenographic idea in a particular material, object or spatial constraint.

I usually begin with the story and the director’s concept, then develop a visual language through costume, space and material. The performer remains an important part of that process: costume has to work on a real body, while scenography has to support the way a performance is inhabited and played. I look for solutions that feel specific to the world of each project, whether historically grounded, highly theatrical or abstract.

I work across the full process, from early concept and research through sourcing, fittings, making and production. I stay closely involved during filming and rehearsals, adapting the work as the project develops. Based in the Netherlands, I’m open to projects and collaborations internationally.
