Green Clouds, Remember to Forget Me is set in a near future where advances in AI, medicine and digital infrastructure have transformed the relationship between technology and the human body. The film explores the tension between human memory — physical, vulnerable and constantly changing — and digital systems designed to preserve information indefinitely.

For a hospital waiting-room sequence, I developed the costumes for a group of women undergoing treatment, beginning with familiar, understated everyday clothing. The intention was to keep the world recognisable and contemporary, allowing the speculative elements to emerge gradually rather than through overtly futuristic costume.

After treatment, six women reappear physically transformed. For these characters, I designed and made six simple semi-transparent dresses in soft, slightly reflective fabrics. Following the director’s visual concept, the costumes expose rather than conceal the altered body, allowing the body-horror elements — hair loss, marks on the skin and medical devices — to remain visible. The resulting image is deliberately stylised and vulnerable, in contrast to the ordinary clothing of the waiting room.

The entire costume process — from the initial conversation and visual development to sourcing, fittings and making the six dresses — was completed within one week before the first shooting day.
