INTERNETTROLLEN
Costume Design · Film · 2026
In post-productionInternettrollen is a darkly comic fantasy about Divar, a young woman trying to remove an old and embarrassing video of herself from the internet. After every legal attempt fails, she turns to a real internet troll to learn how to get the job done.
The costume design follows Divar’s gradual transformation throughout the film. She first appears in anonymous, muted grey clothing, visually withdrawn and without a defined identity. As she begins living with the troll, elements of his world gradually enter her wardrobe: grunge textures, distressed garments and shades of green. In her final look, the transformation is more complete — her clothes become bolder and more individual, giving her a distinctive style of her own.
For the troll, the costume was developed alongside the character’s prosthetic make-up, using worn textures, earthy tones and layered garments to create a character who feels ancient and otherworldly while inhabiting a contemporary setting.
Alongside sourcing and rental, much of the wardrobe required hands-on alteration and costume breakdown. New garments were aged, distressed and colour-treated to create the worn textures and specific palette required for the characters.
